How many fans do Manchester City have worldwide?

Manchester City ranks as the 2nd largest in our index for the largest Premier League team fanbases as they are searched approximately 31.2 million times across the world each month. This is around 8 million more searches than 3rd place, Liverpool FC and just under half the amount of 1st place, Manchester United. This figure however dwarfs the majority of clubs in the division, and is 25 times the volume of Brighton and Hove Albion.

How many fans do Man City have in the United Kingdom?

Around 1.65 million searches are made for Manchester City in the UK each month which is fewer than a handful of EPL clubs including Arsenal and Chelsea; it is a slightly higher figure in the UK than Aston Villa and around 8x more than Brentford FC. This gives City the lowest % of UK traffic as a share of their worldwide search traffic – just 5.3%.

How much interest is there in Man City outside of the UK?

No team in the EPL relies as heavily on non-UK traffic than Manchester City. They record high web search numbers in a host of countries with Indonesia and India supplying 2 million searches for the team each month each(more than any other country). The US searches for the team 1.75 million times a month, Nigeria 1.65 million and Brazil 1.45 million.

City also record high numbers in less traditional territories for EPL teams such as Argentina, where they gain over 1 million searches each month.

As a result, 6.8% of Mancheter City’s search traffic across the world comes from Indonesia and also 6.8% from India. The USA contributes 5.9%, Nigeria 5.6% and Brazil 4.9%.
