Our latest traffic data at Hyperset Group indicates than Manchester United are searched approximately 65.2 million times around the world each month, helping them rank number one in our EPL fanbase size and engagement index and the most popular EPL team.This is nearly 3 times the volume of one of the EPL’s biggest sides, Arsenal FC. They also rank number 1 for website volume, Reddit community members and Instagram followers and gain 33.9% of all EPL team digital engagement when combined across these platforms mentioned and youtube subscribers. This also place second in our rankings of the most popular soccer teams in the world.
They are searched 6.9 million times in the UK alone each month, again, more than any other Premier League team and roughly 5 times the size of other big EPL sides like Chelsea and double that of the third largest side, Liverpool FC.

Where does Man Utd’s fanbase come from countries around the world?
The most traffic for Manchester United comes via the United Kingdom, which generates 10.5% of their worldwide traffic. This also makes them the most well supported team in England. Close behind are both India and Indonesia, who both contribute 10.1% of the team’s total web search traffic.
Other countries providing significant interest in the Red Devils are Nigeria (8.2%), South Africa (6.9%), Malaysia (5.5%) and the USA (4%).

How popular are Manchester United in Africa?
As well as having huge search interest in Nigeria and South Africa, Africa also contains the vast majority of countries who search for the team most often as a percentage of total internet traffic in the region. Namely Uganda, who search for Manchester United more than any other country in the world as a percentage of all search queries.
